After months of planning and discussion my Snowdog arrived at my studio this week.
The Snowdog by the Sea project is a Martlets Hospice and Wild in Art initiative in aid of fundraising for the charity.
My Snowdog is sponsored by Burt Brill and Carden (BBC), one of the longest established firms of solicitors in Brighton. I was honoured that BBC approached me to be the artist to paint our dog. They have been following my work for a number of years and felt I would be the artist who would best represent them.
The dogs are due to go on display on an art trail at the end of September and subsequently auctioned in December.
I have prepared the dog and I am just about to start transferring my design onto the surface. I will keep you update on progress.
I’ve been gathering the materials for the dog this week and because of the scale of the dog plenty is needed. I would like to thank Dockerills, another Snowdog sponsor, for their kind support in the shape of the much-needed masking tape that I will need over the coming weeks. I would also like to thank Cassart for their generous contribution towards the Liquitex paint that I’ll be using.
